How many of us stand on the edge, look out beyond the crowd and know “if only I’d step into that light, it might be different”. It beams like a spot light for some, dances on the peripheral for others & seduces us all to step in.
I want to take you to that edge and let you dip your toe in. Let you decide how much of it you’re willing to drink in. To let you taste what true nectar feels like on your tongue when it’s been brewed in the sunlight just for you. Then playfully ask, “is that it?” To remind you of what you’ve always known. What sneaks out from you when you’re in the flow. It’s not about who you pretend to be, who you wish you were, or who you play in your everyday roles. It’s innate. It’s an essence. It’s pure. It’s evocative.
I don’t limit these sessions to a time frame. It takes time to let something grow. It’s more than simply a photographer’s tricks, or a good camera that makes great pictures. It’s you, sinking back into that primal part of yourself that has learnt to stay quiet in the boardroom, who whispers soothing thoughts as you cradle your babies, who’s been forgotten but waits patiently for the moment s/he knows s/he’ll be called on again.
For me, nature is where that ease comes back. Away from the should be’s, the highly curated identities we’ve all made for ourselves. Where a deep breath is audible, and your shoulders shift knowing it’s ok to be seen.
i took it off.
i did not want to carry it with me anymore.
